Jesus Christ / The Only Way

I’ve tried to save myself, but the ice was to slippery. I’ve tried to save my kids, but I’m to old… I can’t keep up with them. There is always something to fix or save.

  • What types of salvation are there?
  • What do you need to be saved from?
  • How do you attempt to save yourself?
  • Do you remember a time you tried to save someone or something else?

When we seek salvation it can take on many faces, but there is only one that can truly save us from the power of sin and death, Jesus Christ. This is not a new thought. From the beginning of time people have replaced hope in Jesus Christ with other things. Let’s take a look at how we try to save ourselves and how Jesus frees us from these reckless pursuits.

Without Jesus…

  • Who reminds us to stay on a good path?
  • Who pays for our mistakes?
  • Who makes right what we’ve done wrong?
  • Who teaches us to love?

Jesus offers himself as a sacrifice and intercedes for us to God. (Hebrews 10:1-8; Romans 8:34) Jesus rules over all things with perfect justice, mercy, and forgiveness: leading us to God. (Isaiah 9:6-7) Jesus heals and instructs us in the ways of God (Matthew 23:10)

Jesus Christ is enough to heal you from loss, to help you overcome depression, to give you the strength to forgive yourself or those that have hurt you. Jesus Christ is enough to overcome divorce, abuse, or neglect. Jesus Christ is enough. If your life is hard and gets harder Jesus Christ is enough. If you’re misunderstood, alone, or confused, Jesus Christ is enough. There is not a struggle that you face that Jesus is not enough to fix, overcome, heal, grow, or walk you through.

Scripture References:

Acts 4:12 – There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.

1 Corinthians 1: 24-25 – yet to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God, because God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.
