When we face our deepest struggles like pride, greed, fear, and envy we must remember we are created in the image of God. One of the best reminders of this is His written word. The word of God is transformative. It brings death to life. Meaninglessness now has purpose. The Spirit of God teaches and counsel us as we seek to reflect God’s image rather than our own.
Take time to explore the triggers that most plague you. Is it fear, covetousness, pride, or envy? Combat these triggers with the word of God. Each of my family members, that still live at home, have chosen a verse that attacks the brokenness within them. This could be the very truth that gets you through your darkest days. His word reminds of that we are made “In His Own Image.”
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Psalm 4:8 I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, Lord, make me live in safety.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body,[a] I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him.

1 John 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Sirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.”
