Welcome to the “Made For This” Fitness called Athlein, which means contending for the prize. Our philosophy is built on seven essential pillars of mastery—Lead, Fuel, Flow, Force, Drive, Rest, and the Soul—each designed to refine the elite athlete and the novice into a complete performer. The Origin: Albuquerque, Summer 2026
Athlein wasn’t born in a Silicon Valley boardroom; it was forged in the heat of Albuquerque, New Mexico, right at the start of summer 2026. Creator Chad Spriggs originally envisioned a simple accountability tool to keep himself and his sons on track as they jumped into pre-season cross-country training.
However, as the framework came together, Chad realized this tool was reflecting something much deeper. It closely mirrored his overarching philosophy of fitness as a spiritual exercise—a concept he developed in his Made For This small group study. What started as a father-son accountability tracker quickly evolved into a comprehensive digital compass for Christian living.
The Mission: Movement is Medicine
Athlein is built for more than just the elite competitor—it is for the “everyday Athlein” who is pursuing the ultimate prize: Christ-likeness. We believe that maintaining a healthy body allows us to serve and glorify Him for as long as possible.
We are called to honor God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Athlein treats physical health not as a vanity project, but as stewardship of the body you were given. Movement is medicine, and every rep, run, and moment of rest is an opportunity to bring glory to the Creator.
What is the Athlein App?
Athlein is a cloud-based web application designed to be a daily execution compass. It bridges the gap between physical dominance and spiritual/character development.
Unlike endless social media feeds or complex, time-consuming workout trackers, Athlein is built for speed and action. Requiring less than 5 minutes of screen time per day, the app serves as a quick, daily checkpoint that drives 23+ hours of intentional, real-world action.
The 8 Pillars of Stewardship
We break the overwhelming idea of “getting better” into three core categories that cover the whole man:
1. The Mind & Heart (Spiritual & Mental Health)
- Soul: Tracks daily quiet time, prayer, and scripture reading (includes a built-in “Quiet Time Journal”).
- Drive: Measures mental toughness—the holy ambition to do the “extra rep” when nobody is watching.
2. Stewardship of the Body ( Physical Readiness)
- Fuel: Tracks hydration and nutritional discipline.
- Force: Monitors strength training and absolute power output.
- Flow: Ensures daily mobility, dynamic stretching, and agility work.
- Rest: Enforces strict recovery metrics, tracking sleep quality and “phone-away” stillness.
3. Leading the Pursuit (Culture & Impact)
- Lead: Tracks on-field leadership and taking responsibility.
- Multiply: Measures active mentorship and teammate encouragement (includes a “Playbook” of 30 specific ways to lead others).
The Athlein Rhythm
Discipline requires rhythm. Athlein establishes a simple, unbreakable weekly schedule:
- Sunday (The Blueprint): Spend 10 minutes setting specific, measurable goals for all 8 pillars for the upcoming week. Use the Crucible feature to honestly grade your effort from the previous week (1-10).
- Monday – Friday (Daily Execution): The app transforms into a binary checklist. Open it morning and night to check off completed pillars. Watch your dynamic flame icon build a “streak” to reward your consistency.
- Thursday (The Challenge): Engage in our community-wide tiered challenges—ranging from Novice to Seasoned—to push your limits in nutrition, force, and mindset.
- Saturday (The Payoff): Use the Share Goals button to instantly text your 8/8 daily progress and weekly Blueprint to your coach, family, or accountability partner before stepping onto the field.
